Five Sacrifices to Prepare for Mass

"Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father."

Remember that we call our liturgy the Sacrifice of the Mass. When we pray the Mass, we not only participate in the one sacrifice of Christ on the Cross but also have the opportunitiy to offer our own sacrifices along with His.

St. Augustine wrote about five offerings or sacrifices that are most pleasting to God: offerings of humility, praise, peace, charity, and mercy.
